Bubble glass is a product of Provence, France and is hand-blown in the village of Biot. Bubble glass was created in the 1950's by Eloi Monod. The molten glass is mouth blown and hand molded into the desired shape. The characteristic bubbles are created by sprinkling the hot glass with sodium carbonate and the glass is tinted prior to blowing. Biot glass is very distinctive and unique because of the tiny bubbles incorporated into the glass. Our Biot bubble glass goblets, glass tumblers, glass pitchers, glass dinnerware and glass serving bowls are very beautiful and are available in the 18 colors presented on the left side. The stems of the goblets are always clear. Each item is unique because each one is hand-blown. Slight variations in shape, size and color are not only expected but are the sign of authenticity.
We are also offering unique glass art items designed and hand-blown by French master glass makers. Glass vase with poppies painting | Glass vase with lavender painting | Glass fish, glass bottles and glass gifts | Glass Lamps | Glass Table lamps | |
